What is EPDM?

EPDM is the abbreviation for ethylene propylene diene rubber.

EPDM is characterised by the following properties: excellent weather resistance, high temperature and chemical resistance, and high elasticity.

Rubber vs PVC hose we explain the difference!

Elasticity: Rubber hoses are more elastic and can bend and stretch more easily, whereas PVC hoses are less elastic.
Resistance: Rubber hoses are more resistant to chemicals, oils and UV rays and are mechanically stronger.
Temperature resistance: Rubber hoses often have good temperature resistance over a wide range and remain elastic even in cold conditions.

Can rubber and PVC hoses also be used for drinking water?
No, hoses for drinking water are made of special plastic or rubber that does not release any harmful substances such as plasticisers, heavy metals or BPA into the medium.

They meet the requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance and relevant standards and are designed to operate safely at normal water temperatures (cold to moderately warm) and pressures.

In short: What makes it special is that a drinking water hose is harmless to health, hygienic and compliant with standards something that cannot be guaranteed with normal garden hoses.
