Criteria for selecting a hose reel
Which operating environment for the hose reel?
The hose and the hose reel must be suitable for the external influences at the installation site. Ebinger offers you hose reels that are suitable for use in all areas, such as:
- Horticulture under the influence of weather (UV radiation)

- For which medium is the hose reel required?
Different media require different material properties and seals in order to work safely and efficiently and to ensure a long service life of the components. Make sure that the selected hose reel is suitable for the required medium, e.g. water, compressed air, hot water, drinking water, oil, grease, high pressure for washing equipment, pesticides, food, AdBlue, diesel, gases or breathing air.
Which hose length?
The length of the hose determines the working radius and the flexibility of the application area. Select a sufficient hose length to ensure easy and efficient work.
For which hose diameter?
The diameter of the hose influences the flow rate and the delivery capacity. A suitable hose diameter ensures that the desired pressure and quantity of medium are achieved.
Manual or automatic hose reel?
A manual hose reel is the simplest solution for storing hoses. An automatic hose reel offers significant advantages when handling the hose. After use, the hoses can be wound up quickly and easily. Hoses lying around and tripping hazards are a thing of the past. Effective working and the avoidance of accidents at work are just two of the advantages of an automatic hose reel. Thanks to an integrated locking mechanism, the hose can be locked and engaged with every rotation of the reel (approx. every 30-70 cm, depending on the model). The simplest type of automatic drive is a spring mechanism; for longer hose lengths or diameters, there are also models with an electric motor, hydraulic motor or pneumatic motor.
For which work pressure?
The maximum operating pressure indicates how much pressure the hose and reel can withstand. A hose reel that is designed for the correct pressure prevents damage to the hose and swivel joint and also ensures safe use.
